24: 3D viewing of the Gingerbread House

25: Animated Button

26: Room (1st part)

26: Room (2nd part-completed)

27: Brochure made with Publisher

In order to complete this two slices we had to use Microsoft Publisher, make a brochure of different different boxes that describe MCSM high school, how do I get there, what's the experience of being a students at this school and 8 boxes describing our classes, how are they, and what do we do and learn in each of the subjects.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My favorite part of all 27 projects was the assignment number 23, the Gingerbread house because I got to create a house in my own style without following instructions. I found this project very fun because everybody had the opportunity to create a house in their own way. The difference between my classmates houses and mine is that I made a normal regular house while they did the gingerbread house design. I did it my own way because I want to become an architect and general engineer in the future, that had been my inspiration.

2nd Marking Period Projects by Manuel Morrobel

11: Flyer made with Photoshop Skills

- To Complete this Assignment we had to use Adobe Photoshop CS5 and use the strategies that we learned from the assignments that we completed. In this case I used three layers in order to set a picture background and over it some animations images and over them the lyrics or the writings about information for the SAT exam. The purpose for this project is to create a poster about the SAT exam and to give information to people about when will it be, how will it be, etc. I chose different images that represent the SAT exam and for the text I made the large one in a kind of knife style, meaning that it is silver, shinny and sharp and for the small text I just put them transparent but with the border in black. I used another strategy to make this chart by setting the background, the images over the background, and the text over the images making this a sandwich.

12: Texture with layer mode

- In order to complete this assignment we had to use Adobe Photoshop CS5. First we had to open an image of a suit that is plain, in other words, that its surface would not have a interesting texture. After finding the image and opening it in Photoshop we had to cut off the part of the suit that we wanted to edit by using the magnetic lasso and then duplicate that layer in which the part that you selected will appear. After doing this, we had to find a interesting texture of any texture that we would find really cool and open it in another layer. Then we had to copy that texture and paste over the selected part of the suit and move the mouse between the suit-extract and texture layer and we will notice that the arrow will change into crossing circles and we have to click to clip the layer. Finally, it shows a really cool jacket design by you and you can edit the opacity to any percentage you like and put the original image and the edited image into one image.

13: Mimicking the Change of one thing Poster

- Today, I've just finished doing my poster from another poster made by another company or person. This poster was originally made from a box of fried popcorn chicken and I've transformed it into a healthy dish, which is now called a tomato box to let people know that vegetables are very important and healthy in our plates from every day. To do this poster I had to find the chicken box and delete the chicken from the box so I can replace for the tomatoes. Then I wrote some text convincing people to eat this new tomato box which is healthier than a fried popcorn chicken.

14: Halloween Jack-O-Lantern

- Today October 31st of 2014 is day to celebrate what we call Halloween. In order to make this day technologically fun we decided to make a Jack-O-Lantern. To complete this task we had to find a pumpkin image and then cut it off from the borders and paste over a new black background file. Then we started to cut off the eyes, eyebrows, nose and creepy mouth of the pumpkin. After doing all the cutting we putted all of them into a group and made the light inside of the pumpkin by using the blending options. Also, to make this more realistic we draw some lighting coming out of the lantern into the sides of it. Lastly, we wrote "THINK HALLOWEEN" and the date next to it as the title for this assignment.

- On this day, this project is about making a flag image or any texture look like is painted into a wall. In order to complete this assignment we had to Google any flag image (In this case I chose the Dominican Republic flag since I'm Dominican) and also find an image to be used as the background (Walls preferred). After finding them, we had to open Adobe Photoshop CS5 and create a new document. Then we had to paste the wall image and edit it for it to be black and white and then paste the flag image over it and hard light it so the wall may be seem as if the flag image was painted over it. To differentiate the work, I put the original images over the assignment completed to take a look at what is different of the images.

15b: Selfie "Painted"

- This project is basically the same as 15a but this time we had to do the same exact steps we did for the previous work but using an image (selfie) of us and paste our face with any flag we like and make it look like is it painted by hand. As a result I had this image of me with a Dominican flag on my face since my nationality is Dominican.

16: Smart Filter - Motion Burning

- Today we had to find an image that would have an object, such as a car as is shown in my work, to blur the background of it in order to make it look like is moving. To create this we had to first open the image as Smart Object and then use the motion blur to blur the entire picture. Lastly we had to use the soft-edge brush tool to paint the area that I did not want the filter to be applied, in this case I painted the car to make it look like is actually moving.

17: Selection via Quick Mask

- In this project we had to find an image in order to select the area we want to edit by using Quick Selection instead of the magnetic lasso tool, the lasso tool, magic wand tool, etc. Quick mask is a different tool because it is a mode you can enter when working with selections. For this assignment I selected the girl's eyes on the image and colored them with a dark green color but using the quick mask, not other tools for selections on an area of the work we are doing. I think this is a better way to select because it is easy to do so and it is also interesting how we learn new ways to select an area in which you are working on.

18: Soft Skin Glow

- To complete this assignment we had to find an image and open it in Photoshop to create a soft skin glow meaning to select only the parts that can be clearly shown in the image while the rest will have a light glow. To complete this we had to set the image to smart filters and then add a Gaussian blur to blur the entire image. After that we had to change the image from normal to screen which will keep the blur and make the image clear and light. Then we had to select the parts of the face which we don't want the blur to be on it.

19: How To Create A Realistic Pendrive in Adobe Illustrator

- This is our first Adobe Illustrator project and we will be doing a realistic pen-drive made out of shapes and other figures. To complete this assignment we had to do several rectangles and put them together in the center of the page and use an specific gradient for each figure so it can look realistic. The colors involve for each figure were black, white and grey. At the end we had to make some decorations and add some info to the drive such as "flash drive" as it says and the amount of space it has. Finally, at the top edge of the drive we had to write out full name (just for everybody to know that it is your drive ^.^).

20:Cordless phone test

So for the last project of the marking period we had to complete this test. This is a cordless phone that we had to do in Adobe Illustrator and we had to follow the steps in the page we had to open for this assignment and this were my results.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly, for the second period we had to use both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS5 in order to complete our assignment. We learned different strategies from both of these programs to make our work as fine as possible. Through the course of period 2 we can summarize that there were plenty of similarities and differences between these programs. Some similarities were that Photoshop and Illustrator  both are helpful for image editing but Photoshop works with that better and also to create illustrations but Illustrator works better in that area. Some differences are that Photoshop is use more to edit images or to work with bitmap images. On the other had, Illustrator is used for creating graphics and illustrations. Also, Illustrator cannot save JPEG files. Both overall even though they are both different programs they are both helpful for working in editing, creating, and more. We've learned lots of things we didn't know before in these programs.
